Parking in Darwin Green

Where to park a car in Darwin Green

General rule

Darwin Green is a no on-street parking zone. You cannot park your car on-street or, of course, on the pavement. Parking restrictions are regularly enforced and people parking on forbidden areas may get a fine.

Where to park

  • Obviously, residents should park their car(s) on their drives, in their garage, or on their allocated parking space.

  • Anyone can park on the designated visitor spaces. These should be for temporary parking for visitors only, and should not be used by residents to park their cars on a regular basis.

  • The Sports Pavilion in Darwin Green has a parking area with 20 spots, some of them with charging stations. The parking is open to the public and free to use.

Unsure

Some people have been using the parking space near Chapter House at the end of Lawrence Weaver Road, although it’s not clear whether this is permitted or not.

Some cars have been found parked on the big stones at the junction of Galton Road and Patagonia Way. One can still observe black marks on some of the stones. It is inadvisable to park a car there. Leave ’em big stones in peace: they’re dinosaur eggs, not parking spaces.

A white car on a big stone supposed to mark the limit between pavement and road at the intersection of Galton Road and Patagonia Way, the front wheels not touching the ground. Do not attempt to reproduce at home.
