When it comes to updates, not all map services are equal. Google Maps, for example, only gets updates every few years, meaning that delivery drivers, friends, and family may struggle to find an address using a recently created postcode. OpenStreetMap is the most up-to-date mapping tool, with a good portion of Darwin Green already mapped.

Public transport

Bus

Plan your local bus route by visiting Stagecoach’s map or downloading the Stagecoach app.

Stagecoach runs most bus services in the city and you can catch the Citi 5 or 6 from Huntingdon Road or the Citi 8 from Histon Road (opposite Aldi) which takes you into the centre of Cambridge. From the city you can then catch various buses to other areas of the city and beyond.

You can catch the Whippet bus (turn right out of the estate at the junction between Huntingdon Road and Lawrence Weaver Road, near the BP garage) from Huntingdon Road to Addenbrookes on the U1 or U2. For more information, look at Whippet’s website.

The closest park-and-ride is at Madingley Road, CB3 0EX and will take you into the centre of Cambridge; or you can catch the bus A to the park-and-ride in Addenbrookes from Histon Road (opposite Aldi). For more details, see Cambridge Park & Ride website.

Rail

Cambridge is well connected by rail. There are regular trains from Cambridge Stations to London King’s Cross, Ipswich, Ely, Norwich, Brighton, Birmingham and Stansted. The stations are:

  • Cambridge Station, near the city centre (Station Road CB1 2JW)
  • Cambridge North (Cowley Road CB4 0WZ)
  • Cambridge South is under construction
