There will be a drop-in session to give feedback and ask questions on Darwin Green Phases 2&3, the future development between phase Darwin 1 and the A14, in Cambridge.
The session will be on Wednesday 25th June, from 3:30 pm to 7:30 pm, at the Darwin Green Community Rooms (50 Galton Road, Cambridge CB3 0UL).
Barratt’s leaflet says:
Barratt Redrow are delighted to present their emerging Design Code for Darwin Green Phases 2&3, Cambridge.
Planning permission was granted in September 2024 for 1,000 new homes, community infrastructure and a Country Park. The Design Code will set rules and guidelines that shape the layout, appearance, and quality of large-scale developments, ensuring coherent, high- quality design aligned with planning policy for any future planning applications within specific areas of the site.
Join us to meet the project team, ask questions regarding the development of the Design Code for DG Phases 2&3 and find out more about our proposals.
The proposals looks to create a high-quality, sustainable development, responding to local housing need with a mix of home types, including affordable options.
We aim to create public green spaces and play areas to support the community and young people, alongside two schools a community centre and a Country Park. The development will be accessible by active travel methods ensuring a sustainable link to the rest of Cambridge.
The leaflet also adds:
A Place Vision has been developed based on four fundamental principles referred to as the ‘4 C’s’; Community, Climate, Connectivity, Character. These key themes look to ensure an exemplar, highly liveable development, with extensive green space and thoughtful landscaping.

Some information on the development is available on https://darwingreenconsultation.co.uk/the-scheme/darwin-green-2-and-3/, but note that this website is not up-to-date. Good news: Barratt committed to replace their fragmented information websites with a unified portal, so hopefully the results from the drop-in session will be available online at some point. Come and make your voice heard!
